There is a new Disney movie coming out soon called the Queen of Katwe, directed by Mira Nair. The movie is special to us because it is set in the very area where we are doing our initial work.

Katwe is one of the poorest slums in Uganda (no doubt, in the world), and out of this place a young girl emerged using the game of chess to open doors never dreamt of in such a place. The story of hope is the same inspiration that we hope to give to many just like her but who lack opportunity.

We rented a theatre in Lincoln Square where we’ll show the movie on Thursday, Sept. 29, doors open at 6pm. If you would like to attend, Click on the RSVP button above.
